Six of us met on Saturday to run the Lower Pigeon from the bridge in Hartford to the Bridge in Denton. This particular section is rated class II(III). The class III is called Maytag and found directly before the second I-40 bridge at the end of the left chute around a large wooded island. Robyn VanderGallien coordinated the trip and did an excellent job. Besides Robyn, only Betty Dalton, a friend of Robyn's, had seen this particular section of river before. Betty lead through each of the rapids and Robyn acted as sweep. The other paddlers were Bill Carroll, Cat Thrash, Heather Young and myself. The weather was sunny in the high 70's, and the release was 2,400 cfs which made for a fun ride. The day was incident free and everyone had a great time. We found some good play spots in the ledges rapid, and everyone ran clean lines through Maytag. We were on the river for approximately three hours and fifteen minutes.

Site look funky?  Your browser is so old standards-based layouts and styling confuse it.  Consider updating.  Good options include:  Mozilla (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Mozilla Firefox (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Netscape v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Opera v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Galeon (Linux),  Konqueror (Linux),  Apple Safari (Mac),  Mozilla Camino (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v5 or higher (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v6 or higher (Windows).  All are free.  Because of security concerns I personally avoid Internet Explorer.  It may or may not be more buggy than its competitors, but its prominence and Microsoft's notoriety make it the most frequent target of malicious crackers.
