Day of the Doe

Myself, Robin Knupp, Whitney Eure, Terry McGhee and Jennifer Jenson, had an absolutely awesome day on the Doe. Water was cold, air was fine, level was around 500, most of that coming down the Doe and not from tribs, so made for good water. Two bank to bank logs in the first mile and one at the usual spot just above the ropes course in the bottom third. Keep your eyes open. Everybody had good runs everywhere when you weren't looking up at the gorge cliffs gaping at the scenery. We got to Flagpole which is later in the run and the wind was absolutely howling. One almost couldn't muscle out of the big pool and around the corner. Everywhere else the wind wasn't bad. Robin and Whitney had been to the Doe last year when the level was fluctuating and was around 14-1500cfs, when the river has a little more of an attitude. This time I imagine they felt a little less pressure to perform. I've been having a few headgame problems for the past couple years dealing with running harder stuff, so a day like this on one of my favorites does wonders for getting "back on the horse". Perfect day other than being a long run on very cold, splashy water. See y'all out there somewhere.

Site look funky?  Your browser is so old standards-based layouts and styling confuse it.  Consider updating.  Good options include:  Mozilla (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Mozilla Firefox (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Netscape v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Opera v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Galeon (Linux),  Konqueror (Linux),  Apple Safari (Mac),  Mozilla Camino (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v5 or higher (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v6 or higher (Windows).  All are free.  Because of security concerns I personally avoid Internet Explorer.  It may or may not be more buggy than its competitors, but its prominence and Microsoft's notoriety make it the most frequent target of malicious crackers.
