Wow! What fun! Today I left the house to go to NoC to buy my helmet and well I took along my boat which is a Dancer just in case :) Being the only one I know who is into kayaks I was really worried about going down the river by myself. But lucky for me i met some cool people. Jerry had over 30 years of exp. under his belt and was more than willing to let me tag along. So Jerry myself and his wife which was her first time down the river also took off about 12:30 from the put-in just above Pattions run. I have to say that after my first exp. on the water on the E. Fork of the Piegon I had a knot in my stomch but that gave away to nothing but pure joy after the first few rapids. Have to say that there are a few cool people out there on the water to take the time to help explain the different storkes how to enter an eddy and to read the river. Man what a great day. I didn't have to swim but twice the first time was when i was practicing my duffek stroke and entering an eddy, i took a slow splash in very clam water just before the Gauging stion. The second swim was when I tried my first run over little wesser. I ended up going over little wesser looking from the under side of my boat all the way over the falls upside down but Jerry was there acting as a sweep. Man thanks alot Jerry! I'm hooked now. The Nantah is a very forgiving river for my lack of skill and high energy I had a great day on a very cool river. Oh the river was running at 3.60. Be safe! Eager Beaver AKA Dan

Site look funky?  Your browser is so old standards-based layouts and styling confuse it.  Consider updating.  Good options include:  Mozilla (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Mozilla Firefox (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Netscape v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Opera v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Galeon (Linux),  Konqueror (Linux),  Apple Safari (Mac),  Mozilla Camino (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v5 or higher (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v6 or higher (Windows).  All are free.  Because of security concerns I personally avoid Internet Explorer.  It may or may not be more buggy than its competitors, but its prominence and Microsoft's notoriety make it the most frequent target of malicious crackers.
