New to the Area - Southern Pines

Hello All. I moved out to the area from Colorado last August, and am looking for people in the local area that I can meet up with to paddle. I'll take any and all advice.

I am currently living in Southern Pines, NC.

I am a Class IV Kayaker, with experience on many rivers in the Colorado and Arkansas Basin. Shoshone, West Water, Pine Creek, Numbers, Slaughter House (Roaring Fork), and Poudre River. It has been a year since I last got wet, and I am looking to jump into some Class III to start.

I am familiar with rivers that run on snowmelt, and am trying to learn about the rivers that run when it rains.

I am also game to go rafting and have experience as a guide on Colorado rivers, and have run my own private trip down the Grand.

I am hoping to hit the Gauley this September and will be looking to meet up with someone who is going that direction.

Drop me a line at protopyre@yahoo.com if you would like to assist a wayward boater.

Ryan

Site look funky?  Your browser is so old standards-based layouts and styling confuse it.  Consider updating.  Good options include:  Mozilla (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Mozilla Firefox (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Netscape v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Opera v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Galeon (Linux),  Konqueror (Linux),  Apple Safari (Mac),  Mozilla Camino (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v5 or higher (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v6 or higher (Windows).  All are free.  Because of security concerns I personally avoid Internet Explorer.  It may or may not be more buggy than its competitors, but its prominence and Microsoft's notoriety make it the most frequent target of malicious crackers.
