A longtime member of WCP had his truck burglarized at the Barnard put-in to Section 9 of the French Broad last week. It happened in broad daylight between about 4 and 5:30 p.m. as he was paddling the river with his stepdaughter. The crooks got away with his wallet, cash, credit cards, tools, clothes and some paddling gear. A black Ford pickup with two black dogs in the back was seen driving away from the scene. Anyone parking at this put-in should keep a close eye out for suspicious activity and report anything to the Madison County Sheriff. If you have information on this case, post back and I will get it to my friend. This is not the first time this has happened.

Site look funky?  Your browser is so old standards-based layouts and styling confuse it.  Consider updating.  Good options include:  Mozilla (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Mozilla Firefox (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Netscape v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Opera v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Galeon (Linux),  Konqueror (Linux),  Apple Safari (Mac),  Mozilla Camino (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v5 or higher (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v6 or higher (Windows).  All are free.  Because of security concerns I personally avoid Internet Explorer.  It may or may not be more buggy than its competitors, but its prominence and Microsoft's notoriety make it the most frequent target of malicious crackers.
