Hello WCP Club Members,
Here is some news regarding club activities:

Lee Belknap, Garret Mooney and myself have formed an unofficial activities committee to try to jump start club meetings and activities. The first of these activities was the fall campout. Those of you who did not attend missed a rip roaring time!! Nevermind the fact that it was raining, cold, and windy! Seriously, a core group of us attended and enjoyed a good fire complements of Garret.

The plan for meetings for 2007 is to meet at 7pm on the ****first Tuesday of even numbered months for a social gathering at Marco’s Pizza**** next door to the Fresh Market in North Asheville. They will save a section for us so that we can all sit together and share stories of recent and/or upcoming trips, talk gear, or just enjoy some fantastic pizza! The first of these meetings will be February 6th.

That leaves the odd numbered months open for slide shows, campouts, boat demos, or other activities. Rather than leaving the job of inspiring and planning these activities to one person, we would like to open this up for anyone to suggest or sponsor an activity. If you’ve been on a great trip and have some slides to share, we can set up a slide show meeting. Or, if we want to do a potluck float on the Biltmore Section, we can do that. The idea is that we’ll schedule the meeting/activity for the first Tuesday of an odd numbered month at a location that makes sense for the activity or presentation.

Any feedback, comments, or ideas? Contact Lee, Garret, Megan, or Chris.

Happy paddling! (Brrrr!)
Megan

Site look funky?  Your browser is so old standards-based layouts and styling confuse it.  Consider updating.  Good options include:  Mozilla (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Mozilla Firefox (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Netscape v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Opera v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Galeon (Linux),  Konqueror (Linux),  Apple Safari (Mac),  Mozilla Camino (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v5 or higher (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v6 or higher (Windows).  All are free.  Because of security concerns I personally avoid Internet Explorer.  It may or may not be more buggy than its competitors, but its prominence and Microsoft's notoriety make it the most frequent target of malicious crackers.
